Research
As part of my academic work in the PRAD program at DePaul University, I had the privilege to collaborate with several notable organizations in the Chicago community. The organizations came into class to brief us about real problems and challenge us to come up with innovative solutions. Showcased below are some of the research projects my teams conducted and presented to some of the organizations.
depaul university art museum
The DePaul Art Museum is an institution that provides the DePaul university community and the public with a better understanding of art, history and culture. Developed in my Research Methods class, this team project sought to gain insights into how to deepen awareness and engagement – among students, faculty, donors, alumni and the public – and accelerate social impact by the museum. Using secondary research, interviews and a survey, we were able to understand the attitudes of stakeholders and proffer advice on how the museum could improve its stakeholder engagement and fundraising strategies.
mexico tourism board
This research project was conducted for the Mexico Tourism Board – an organization that promotes Mexico, its culture and destinations to an international audience. A final team project for my PR and Analytics class, the report outlines the insights gathered from a media content analysis and social listening audit. The research was conducted using advanced analytics tools to measure, review and evaluate the organization's "Live it to believe it" campaign which ran from September 2014 to May 2016. Our findings from the audit formed the basis of our recommendations to the organization on how it could improve the performance of its advertising and social media campaigns in the years ahead.
chicago community trust
This project is a strategic communications proposal developed in my PR and Advertising for Nonprofit Communication class for the Chicago Community Trust. It takes a look at the nonprofit organization's goals, mission statement, target audiences and key messages. It includes a website and social media audit that guided my team's recommendation to the Trust on what communication strategies and tactics it could use to better engage its stakeholders and tell its stories.
